Don Quixote, originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus, was first presented by the Ballet of the Imperial Bolshoi Theater of Moscow, Russia on December 26, 1869. The ballet was built on episodes taken from the novel Man de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes.

Southold Dance Theater presents a new version of the story, a three-act ballet, set and partially re-choreographed by Artistic Director Calin Radulescu. An exhilarating love story between a barber and a merchant’s daughter takes center stage in this ballet. Don Quixote himself searches for his own true love. Street dancers, toreadors, gypsies, dryads, and traditional Spanish dances will delight audiences of all ages.

This is Southold Dance Theater's newest ballet! Don’t miss this family favorite. This ballet is performed by over 100 area youths ages 5-18 accompanied by several professional guest performers.

Family friendly, all ages are welcome.
