Henry David Thoreau: Surveyor of the Soul (2017)

New at the Browning

Director Huey scheduled to appear in person!

Thoreau famously wrote that he “was born in the nick of time” in Concord, Massachusetts. He went on to write about building a cabin and living at Walden Pond and ultimately found himself on library shelves and syllabi across the nation. This documentary tells the story of his life and his time at Walden Pond as well as the impact his writings have had on environmental issues, civil rights, and individual thinking of our time. Notre Dame Professor Laura Dassow Walls served as the lead scholar consultant on the film.
