True Crime

Description

True Crime is not a new American obsession; the adage ‘if it bleeds, it leads’ extends back to the 1800s with the notion predating the pithy phrase. As a vehicle for telling True Crime stories, movies have been of service as long as they have been around. This course will look at that history as well as form comparisons on how victims, perpetrators, and officers of the law have been portrayed. Further, the offerings of films will extend beyond murder to look at various criminal activities and how truthful the films are about the actual events that inspired them.
