Summer Film School
Description
Summer Film School is a great way to learn the basics of recognizing and analyzing the unique conventions movies use to have flat, giant images on a wall make us laugh, weep, and cheer.
Broken into four classes, Summer Film School will focus on (1) Mise-en-Scène, (2) Cinematography, (3) Editing, and (4) Sound Design. Lectures will run a little under an hour on each subject before screening a classic film. After the film, there will be a discussion of how the film utilizes the techniques discussed in the lecture.
