Annie (1982)

ANDkids World Film Festival

This special version of the original Annie film has sing-along lyrics offering the opportunity for you to join in the shenanigans at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. So bring a smile (so that you’re fully dressed) and a song to the opening night of the ANDkids World Film Festival. The film runs true to the stage version of the musical about the optimistic orphan Annie (Aileen Quinn), who knows her family will come for her in Depression-era New York City. When Daddy Warbucks (Albert Finney) stops by the orphanage to improve his image, Annie comes with him, changing the mood of the estate, proprietor, and, by extension, the nation. But shady characters from Annie’s orphanage days are looking to get to Easy Street themselves, thus complicating the arc of where the sun will come out tomorrow.
