Todd Rundgren: Play Like a Champion Today Concert

Presenting Series

Limited Seating. Please Call the Ticket Office at 574.631.2800
Todd Rundgren is a musician, songwriter and record producer whose musical career began at the age of 17 in the Philadelphia area. In nearly 50 years as a bellwether of the music industry, Rundgren has produced an abundant and diverse range of recordings, as a solo artist and as a member of the band Utopia and various collaborations including Ringo’s All-Starr Band. He is a video pioneer, has been prolific as a producer and engineer on the recorded work of other musicians, and has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music.

With a well-established reputation for staying on the cutting edge of technology and musical trends, his last two albums, State (2013) and Global (2015) explored the current Electronica genre, with State charting at No. 12 on the Billboard Electronica/Hip-Hop charts. As founder and president of the Spirit of Harmony Foundation, Rundgren advocates for the moral imperative of music education.

Todd Rundgren has designed an accredited elective class on art, business, technology and rock ‘n’ roll for Notre Dame students. Student ensembles are scheduled to perform as part of this concert. During Rundgren’s weeklong residency several exciting events are open to the public and feature his Spirit of Harmony Foundation’s advocacy for music education.

Presented by the Mary Pergola Parent and Dr. Thomas Parent Endowment for Excellence in Filmmaking, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, The Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts, College of Arts and Letters and Department of Film, Television and Theatre.
