Overview

A critically acclaimed film from Australia that went largely overlooked during its release, Lake Mungo has been cited by many as the best or most interesting film in the sub-genre of found footage scary movies (think: Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity). Lake Mungo goes a different direction than those films, utilizing a more straightforward documentary approach to amp up the psychological horror angle for a slow, hot burn. After the funeral for a teenage Alice Palmer (Talia Zucker) who drowned in Lake Mungo, her family experiences a series of unsettling events that put into question whether Alice is still with them or not.
