Lucky (2017) New at the Browning
Known for his work with major American independent film directors, most notably David Lynch, 91-year-old Harry Dean Stanton plays a 90-year-old atheist named Lucky who embarks on a spiritual journey after having outlived (and out-smoked) his friends. Living off the map in a small desert town, he comes to terms with his own mortality and searches for enlightenment, even if it feels elusive. This film also marks the directing debut of John Carroll Lynch, who many may recognize as Marge Gunderson’s husband Norm in Fargo.
