Irena Dubrovna (Simone Simon), a fashion designer in New York City who hails from Serbia, begins a romance with marine engineer Oliver Reed (Kent Smith). After the couple is wed, Oliver becomes concerned about Irena's notion that she is cursed and may transform into a large cat in the heat of passion. Airing his marital concerns to his assistant, Oliver unpurposefully triggers Irena's curse, and their relationship starts getting hairy.
I Walked with a Zombie (1943)
Canadian nurse Betsy Connell (Frances Dee) is hired to care for Jessica Holland (Christine Gordon), a woman on a Caribbean sugar plantation, who has a bizarre condition. The mysterious affliction baffles Betsy, but Betsy isn’t unsure about falling in love with Jessica's husband, Paul (Tom Conway). She makes good on that affection by moving heaven and earth to cure his wife; however, her quest rings more hellish as Betsy is drawn into the local zombie world and begins to uncover island secrets.
