Lost in Paris (2017)

New at the Browning

Married collaborators Fiona Gordon and Dominique Abel direct and star in their slapstick films, which are heavy on zippy sight gags that owe a debt to Jacques Tati’s comedy. In their latest, Fiona (Fiona Gordon—they use their real life names for all of their characters) works in a Canadian library amid piles and piles of snow. Breaking free of a rut, she visits Paris, only to discover her aunt (Emmanuelle Riva) is missing. Heading through colorful Parisian streets in search, she meets the Chaplin-esque Dom (Dominique Abel), who falls for her, figuratively and literally. Fiona keeps tracking her aunt while Dom’s unrequited advances lead to escalating misadventures for all involved.
